Creme for Salted Caramel Sauce

Despite its simplicity, this caramel sauce will take your desserts (ice-creams, crepes, or even cakes) to the next level. The hint of saltiness and its texture will transform your desserts not only in taste but also visually.

But the best part is that it requires only 4 ingredients, that you probably have on hand anyway: sugar, water, cream and salt – and 5 to 10mns of your time, depending on how hot your burners are and the quantity you are making. Try it! You won’t regret it!

Salted Caramel Sauce
Instructions
  1. Place the sugar and water in a heavy bottom pot. Stir well and bring to a boil on medium high heat.
  2. Once it starts boiling, tilt your pot back and forth to allow for even caramelization. Once your caramel is reaching a deep brown color , take the pot off the stove and add the cream.
  3. Bring back to the stove and stir with a whisk. The caramel will start melting again. Cook until you get the desired consistency of a sauce.
  4. Add your seasoning at the end, off the stove to avoid burning their flavors.
  5. Pour in a jar and let cool before using as the caramel can get really hot.
Recipe Notes

The caramel sauce will thicken as  it cools down and will keep for weeks in your fridge. Warming it up  for a few seconds in the microwave will  thin it. Enjoy!
