This is a quick update on The Giving Pies Project. The longest part of the whole process, I think, is to make the labels for each flavor and size of each pie. You have to make the pies, weigh them and then make the labels with the ingredients and the food allergy warnings.

This tart comes from the north east of France, Lorraine to be precise (closer to Germany - hence the German sounding name) and gets its name from the fact that it was directly baked in the stone oven, literally "licked by the flames".

I am so proud of this recipe! And it's just in time for Thanksgiving! I'm not a big fan of pumpkin pie because I have to say, I kind of dislike cinnamon.

Fall is not only the season for pumpkins but also for beautiful wild mushrooms. One of my favorites are the chanterelles. They are so beautiful and meaty in texture. I love cooking them in omelettes but most of all in a tarte.

When I was in France, the main time pumpkins were mentioned was in fairy tales. I knew we could consume it but I had never tasted any. Now that I'm in the US, I got a new appreciation for it. It almost feels like this squash is worshiped here, from September to November.

Lemon tarte is one recipe that can be made in so many different ways. When you grow up in France, you kind of believe that there's only one way which is meringue lemon pie.

Hi everyone! I'm Voahangy.

If you love quiches, sweet or savory tarts, you came to the right place! Did you know there are many ways to make a tart? Well, yes my friend and the sky is the limit! Glad you stopped by! We're gonna have a good time!

VOAHANGY’S COOKING TIPS

#1
Organization is key in the kitchen. If you have everything measured, prepped and sorted before hand, executing your recipe will be pure bliss.

#2
A food scale is more precise and very useful to calculate calories in a recipe if you're watching your waistline.

#3
Clean up as you go. You'll be much happier after all that hard work!
